It’s not just about the water as the beachfront promenade is a destination in its own right! The arches along the beachfront are home to a variety of businesses. By Brighton Palace Pier you’ll find great galleries in the Artists’ Quarter. As you stroll along you see more bars and restaurants serving everything from ice-cream to high end seafood. The arches by the West Pier and i360 are home to independent traders selling fashion, furniture and photography.

Beachside Attractions

Of course a day at the beach has to include a trip to the iconic Brighton Palace Pier with its helter skelter and arcade games. Just next door you’ll find Sealife Centre home to giant turtles, sharks and seahorses. To the east of the Pier you'll find the historic Volks Railway - Britain's oldest electric railway built in 1883.

Head west and you’ll find the free fishing museum , tracing the city’s origins as a sleepy fishing village and a bit further along you’ll find British Airways i360 – the world’s tallest moving observation tower. Glide 450 feet into the air to see Brighton & Hove including the vibrant Brighton Beach, in all its glory! 

Heading west from the i360 takes you past the Peace Statue and across the boundary in to Hove. There's the stunning architecture of the modernist Embassy Court and the Regency Brunswick Square. Further along the seafront there's the iconic colourful beach huts and the new Hove Plinth. Major works will be showcased on the plinth for up to 18 months - the current one is Constellation by Jonathan Wright.

After dark, Brighton Beach really comes alive with Brighton’s seafront clubs and bars nestling underneath the Victorian beachfront arches opening their doors for some of the best club nights in the country.

The spectacular seaside palace of the Prince Regent (George IV) transformed by John Nash between 1815 and 1823 into one of the most dazzling and exotic buildings in the British Isles.

The Royal Pavilion houses furniture and works of art including original pieces lent by HM The Queen and a magnificent display of Regency silver-gilt. The Royal Pavilion Tearoom, with its fabulous balcony, overlooks the Pavilion gardens, which have also been returned to their original Regency splendour.

Theatre Royal Brighton is one of the oldest and most distinguished theatres in the country.

The auditorium of the grade II listed building, which is located at the heart of the city’s cultural quarter, represents an example of the finest regency architecture.

The theatre has presented professional productions continuously since 1807 and most of our leading actors and actresses have performed here.   Rowan Atkinson, Rupert Everett, Dawn French, Ian McKellan, Patrick Stewart, Zoë Wanamaker and Dominic West and are among those who have appeared on Theatre Royal Brighton’s stage in recent years.

In addition to presenting a programme of quality drama, much of which comes direct from the West End or is previewing before a London run, the theatre’s programme includes ballet, music, comedy, opera and children’s shows.

Alongside productions on the main stage, the theatre regularly stages productions in various locations throughout the building: in the cavernous under stage area, the Gallery Bar, the dressing rooms and in the wings of the stage.

Each Saturday morning throughout summer, the theatre holds backstage tours, allowing visitors the chance to peek behind the scenes of this fascinating and much loved historic building.

The Brighton Dome is an arts venue in Brighton, England, that contains the Concert Hall, the Corn Exchange and the Studio Theatre. Hove Lagoon is home to one of the countries leading watersports centres offering wakeboarding, sailing, windsurfing, Kayaking and Standup Paddleboarding on the Lagoon and the sea and well as the Big beach Cafe (Owned by Brighton's own Norman Cook aka Fat Boy Slim). Hove Lagoon is also home to a skateboard park, a playground, a kids paddle pool, kids play area, kids boating pool and a model boat club. Hove Lagoon is a public park that features a boating lake about 200m long and 100m wide set in grassland right next to the Brighton and Hove seafront with direct access to the beach. The park is open all the time but the individual business with it have varying hours. Big Beach Cafe Lagoon Watersports - To avoid disappointment please book activities in advance Hove lagoon is popular with families, dog walkers , local residents and watersports enthusiasts.

Beach Playground

King’s Road Playground is located on the seafront and offers children plenty of natural sand and a wide selection of climbing frames, slides and other classic playground equipment. There is a huge wading pool open every year from mid-May to mid-September. Parents can rent beach chairs and get drinks from the Café!

The playground is fenced and the children can therefore move freely and run around. If there are no beach chairs available, parents can use the benches and tables to rest.

Booth Museum of Natural History

Over half a million specimens and natural history literature and data extending back over three centuries are housed in this fascinating museum. The star attraction is the Victorian taxidermy collection of Edward Booth with hundreds of British birds displayed in recreated natural settings, The museum is also full of insects from butterflies to beetles, a killer whale skeleton and dinosaur bone and geology and fossils.
