Relaxed Front bar
Built in 1828 - The Southern Belle is situated in the Brunswick Area of Brighton and Hove (one of the most historically preserved Georgian planned communities in the South of England) and arguably the nicest neighbourhood in the Brighton & Hove area.
Packed full of history with a quirky edge - the original back bar serve's up a fantastic selection of craft beers, Sussex ales, cocktails, fine wines and whiskies plus more gins and than you can shake a stick at! In winter you'll find the log fire roaring and in summer the door open wide. A great social space to drink & dine. With an easy atmosphere and a choice of comfortable snug seating, dining/drinking tables for groups of 2-4 and large high window seats (seats 6) - which are perfect to watch the world go by and take a glimpse of the sea. We also offer plenty of take away drinks - perfect for a beach day!. Come and grab a pint in the pub or a takeaway to watch the sun go down on the beach ☀️
We're extremely dog friendly and have won some amazing awards over the years.

Food
Our Southern Belle Kitchen is open on Thursday from 5pm-9pm, Saturday & Sunday from 12pm - 9pm & Sunday from 12 - 7pm, We've got small plates, big plates, burgers plus a whole load of tasty tipples and friendly atmosphere! Cocktail Lounge/Bar
Our fabulous cocktail lounge/bar is located towards the back of the building and is such a beautiful space with a choice of low intimate cocktail chairs, high bar seating and dining tables. With low lighting and a fabulous ambience - it's a great space for intimate drinks, small gathering or your own speakeasy vibe for celebrations. The bar in the cocktail lounge is open weekends - outside of these times service is provided by the front bar.
Meeting Space
Our lounge room and cocktail lounge are also great spaces to hire for meetings, workshops or launch events. Both areas have their own smart TV's which can be utilised in meeting environments as well as entertainment. We can supply refreshments, pastries, sandwiches/snacks through to a full set menu!
Full Venue Hire
We also offer full venue hire and have been lucky enough to hosts some fabulous weddings. With pub, lounge & cocktail bar plus our gorgeous hotel rooms - we make for the perfect venue to celebrate with your loved ones. With the fabulous bandstand ceremony venue 5 mins walk away and the stunning St Andrews Church opposite us - it couldn't be easier or more relaxed for guests.
